Abomenon is a blog about defense — hardware, doctrine, procurement, and the spectacular institutional failures that produce all three. Roughly half of it is written in earnest. The other half is written the way people actually talk about this stuff at 1am.
The difference is labelled at the top of every post, because the single worst thing about defense commentary online is that nobody tells you when they're kidding.

Who is flying this
Nobody with a clearance, a uniform, or a stake in a defense contractor's share price. I'm a hobbyist. I read the primary documents, I do the arithmetic, and when I'm guessing I say so out loud. That is genuinely most of the value proposition.
The name is abomination welded to phenomenon, which is roughly how I feel about the modern defense-industrial base on a good day.
